Debate Workshops 22 October 2026
An event bringing together professionals from the fields of communication, the arts and social organisations
To create new narratives through communication and culture in order to counter hate speech, is the aim of the latest edition of ‘Los Laboratorios de Debate y Discusión’, organised by the Fuenlabrada Committee for Coexistence in collaboration with the Town Council, which will take place this afternoon at 6.00 pm at the Espacio Jover La Plaza.
The general public, social organisations, and professionals from the worlds of communication and culture – such as rapper and presenter Frank T, journalist Ebbaba Hameida; Megan Mercury, DJ and multidisciplinary artist; Mikel Hernan, historian, populariser and content creator; Bob Pop, a cultural and society journalist; and the creator, artist and writer Enrique Bernabéu, will take part in this event, entitled ‘Communication and Art Against Hate Speech’. They will share their experiences and reflections on discrimination based on race, sexual orientation and disability.
The event aims to be a space for reflection and public participation, seeking to analyse how culture and communication are tools for creating fairer and more equal societies that combat hate speech, which has been on the rise in recent years.
The Fuenlabrada Round Table for Coexistence, comprising more than 35 neighbourhood, cultural and other associations, hopes, through these debates, to reaffirm the city of Fuenlabrada’s commitment to diversity, by creating spaces for encounter and coexistence where differences are seen as an opportunity to foster empathy and other values in the face of the misinformation and polarisation that have characterised society in recent years.
