Fuenlabrada shows its solidarity and support for the people of Ceuta 24 September 2026
Javier Ayala made a statement on behalf of the Mayor’s Office at the start of the plenary session
Mayor Javier Ayala wished to express his full support and solidarity with the people of Ceuta in the face of the migration crisis they are currently experiencing, through a statement from the Mayor’s Office at the start of today’s plenary session. Furthermore, a motion to this effect was also passed.
The mayor wished to thank the institutions, public services, law enforcement agencies, and all the organisations working to resolve the situation created by the migration crisis, which since 30 July has disrupted daily life in the autonomous city.
At the same time, he condemned the inaction of the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union’s delay in organising a coordinated response, and called for cooperation and institutional loyalty amongst all administrations – both European and Spanish – to jointly tackle the consequences of this migration crisis.
She also championed solidarity between regions, as the scale and complexity of this migration crisis require the commitment and collaboration of all administrations in our country and across the European Union.
Ayala has reaffirmed her commitment to a plural, diverse and cohesive society, in which security, peaceful coexistence, solidarity and respect for human dignity are shared principles.
“I wish to appeal to the public and to all political parties to uphold coexistence, calm and respect, rejecting any manifestation of hatred, discrimination or violence that might contribute to division or confrontation,” he stated in his declaration, inviting “the whole of society and all institutions to join in this commitment to solidarity with Ceuta and in defence of coexistence, cooperation and unity of action”.
