  2. Fuenlabrada organises its first Data-Hack-Thon, a competition of useful technological proposals for the city

The aim is to develop innovative technological solutions to address the challenges facing the municipality

Next Friday, 29 May, the first Fuenlabrada Data-Hack-Thon will be held at the CIFE. It will be an open innovation event created with the aim of turning municipal data into useful tools for urban development and the well-being of our residents.

During the event, participants will work with the municipality’s open datasets to develop innovative proposals capable of adding value across three key areas: the economic (creating models that strengthen local trade and businesses), the social (developing proposals that improve quality of life and community cohesion) and the environmental (with data-driven projects that promote sustainability and the improvement of the urban environment).

“This event is not just a technical competition; it is a space for multidisciplinary collaboration where data analysis is put at the service of the city,” explains Raquel Pérez, Councillor for Innovation, Transparency and Data Protection, highlighting that participants “will have the opportunity to work with specific contexts in Fuenlabrada to generate prototypes with a practical and real-world application in the municipality”.

Registration and participation in the event are completely free of charge. There will be a category for the city’s educational institutions, another for small local businesses, and a third for participants from associations, foundations or individual citizens.

The working session will last all morning, from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm, when the projects are due to be submitted. The jury will evaluate the various proposals and at 5.00 pm the winning solutions will be presented and the prizes for each category awarded.
