The aim of this second phase is to improve pedestrian accessibility   

 Mártires Street is currently undergoing redevelopment works to improve the street by enhancing accessibility and increasing the pedestrian area, making it more walkable, comfortable and pleasant  

The project has an approximate budget of 576,000 euros, with European funding from the Next Generation Fund, as part of the State Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience.

The works extend from Plaza de los Cuatro Caños to the junction with Calle Adrián, widening the street and continuing the single, pedestrian-priority walkway created on the previous section. The works are scheduled to take five months.

The works consist of a complete redevelopment that will improve mobility and pedestrian accessibility by widening the pavement, improving lighting, pedestrian crossings and street furniture, and creating new green spaces. 

The pavement will be widened and the kerbs and surfacing of both the pavements and the carriageway will be replaced with tiles and cobblestones. Both will be at the same level, forming a single platform.

New manholes and drain grates will also be installed, and the entire cabling for the street lighting network will be renewed, thereby improving safety and comfort. 

The project also includes the creation of new green spaces and recreational areas with flowerbeds fitted with an irrigation system, clearly marked out and slightly raised above the pavement. These will be equipped with an irrigation system, and new street furniture will be installed, in particular benches and litter bins.
