The City Council launches its plan to improve the city’s children’s play areas at Miraflores Park 10 August 2026
Work began in July on the two children’s play areas in Plaza de la Copa
Fuenlabrada Town Council has begun work to refurbish two children’s play areas located in Plaza de la Copa in Miraflores Park. This work forms part of the plan to improve the town’s children’s play areas.
The aim of this project is to refurbish and adapt these two play areas so that they better meet the needs of local residents. Specifically, in one of them, the play equipment and rubber flooring are being replaced, whilst the other will subsequently be converted into a health and fitness area.
As Soledad Martín, Councillor for the Environment and Public Spaces, emphasised, “with these improvement works, we aim to diversify the use of these play areas and enable people of different ages to enjoy them”.
The project, with a budget of around 46,500 euros, is scheduled for completion in September.
In addition, during the second half of August, street furniture – such as picnic tables and litter bins – is due to be installed in the forest park. Street lights will also be fitted in the area to improve the park’s lighting.
These improvements are also part of the Miraflores Park improvement plan that the council has been developing for several months, which also includes measures to improve accessibility and mobility in the neighbourhood, such as the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the M-506 linking to Móstoles and improvements to public transport.
