Saturday 17th, featuring local and regional produce

Next Saturday, 17 October, we have another chance to discover local, artisan and regional produce at the Farmers’ Market. New for this edition, the stalls are moving to the Vivero-Hospital-Universidad district, specifically to the Paseo de la Salud boulevard.

Between 11.00 and 15.00, the twenty stallholders will be showcasing their produce, sourced not only from our own municipality but also from other towns in the region such as Pelayos de la Presa, Rivas and Ajalvir, and from other provinces including Cáceres, Burgos and Mallorca.

Visitors will be able to find vegetables and fruit from the Parque Agrario, wine, olive oil, chocolates and handmade soap from various towns in the Community, as well as other products from across Spain, such as pulses, cheese, sobrasada and black pudding.

Throughout the day, there will be agro-environmental workshops for children, and at 12.00 pm, the show ‘Cuenta Cuentos al Momento’ by Karakolaanimación will take place. There will also be a tasting of local produce from 1.00 pm, organised by the Tabola restaurant, this year’s winner of the award for the best tortilla in the district.

“It is important to recognise the work of small-scale producers and to encourage more sustainable consumption by promoting locally sourced produce, all within a fun and festive atmosphere such as that of the Farmers’ Market,” said Soledad Martín, Councillor for Sustainability, the Environment and Public Spaces.

The Producers’ Market is organised by Fuenlabrada Town Council through the Department of Sustainability, Environment and Public Space, in collaboration with the Fuenlabrada Agricultural Park.
