As part of the EDINT (Data Space for Innovation) project

CIFE hosted a meeting between the business community of our municipality and the city’s innovation ecosystem, as part of the EDINT (Data Space for Innovation) project and organised in collaboration with AEFSUR – the Fuenlabrada Business Association.

During the event, the municipal strategy was presented, focusing on the use of data as a lever for economic and social transformation, highlighting the role of technology as a tool at the service of people.

Among the key projects presented was EDINT, a national data space that promotes cooperation between public administrations, businesses and universities, facilitating the exchange and use of data in a secure, ethical and efficient manner.

Other projects promoted by the City Council were also unveiled, such as EITEL (Smart Energy for All), an initiative aimed at combating energy poverty through the combined use of artificial intelligence, geospatial analysis and digital twins; and the European SAM-SUD project, focused on the application of advanced data analysis models for sustainable urban planning.

“Fuenlabrada is committed to an innovative city model, based on public-private collaboration and the responsible use of data to improve public services and generate new opportunities,” emphasised Raquel Pérez, Councillor for Innovation, Transparency and Data Protection.

The event served as a forum for dialogue and collaboration between businesses, universities and the local government, highlighting data as a genuine “source of energy” to drive new business models, strengthen public services and generate real opportunities for cooperation within the framework of a more innovative, fair and sustainable city.

This collaboration takes the form of the ability to share data between the City Council and its SMEs, as well as the definition of use cases that promote local commerce and the development of the city’s productive fabric.
