A play based on the novel by Cristina Rivera Garza

Winner of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize, ‘Liliana’s Invincible Summer’ by the renowned Mexican writer Cristina Rivera Garza stands as a luminous and moving testimony that transforms pain into an act of love, remembrance and justice.

Rivera Garza weaves together personal testimony, documentary research and the power of literature to pay tribute to her sister Liliana, a young woman who fell victim to femicide in 1990. Her story — marked by the structural violence of a system that still persists — is also that of thousands of silenced women around the world. It is not merely an exercise in mourning, but a political act of reclaiming the right to speak, dignity and justice. It creates a space for collective memory through tenderness, lucidity and courage.
