Work on the extension of Calle Extremadura is progressing well 27 August 2026
Work on widening the central reservation on Calle Extremadura is progressing well and, once completed in the first few weeks of next month, will not only create more space for green areas but also improve pedestrian access and enhance road safety.
The central reservation will be widened to 190 centimetres, thus allowing for an increase in the number of plants and shrubs; until now, it had been just 70 centimetres wide.
The project, which covers 350 metres of this road, also includes a series of measures to improve accessibility and road safety, such as the reconstruction of pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, as well as other measures aimed at calming traffic.
The work has been carried out following the completion of the works undertaken by Canal de Isabel II in the city to improve drainage and sewerage systems.
