New edition of Circo Abierto 2 October 2026
‘La Mirada Joven de Circo Abierto’ is an initiative aimed at young people aged between 18 and 26
From 2 October to 27 November, Fuenlabrada is hosting the second edition of the ‘Circo Abierto’ festival. The programme features contemporary circus, emerging talent and performances that engage with other artistic disciplines.
One of the main new features this year is ‘La Mirada Joven de Circo Abierto’, an initiative aimed at young people aged between 18 and 26, encouraging them to play an active part in the festival by attending the shows free of charge, meeting the companies or taking part in fringe events. In addition, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
On Friday 2 October, at 7.30 pm, the ‘Circo Abierto’ programme will be presented at the Josep Carreras Theatre, followed by a performance of ‘Mute… y a volar!’ by the Orain Bi company. The programme will run until 27 November, featuring productions such as ‘¡Wooow!’ by Nando Caneca; ‘Empaque’ by Chicharrón Circo; ‘Ahora’ by Maite Guevara; ‘Munchaussen’ by Asaco Producciones; ‘Tenet’ by Eunoia Kolektiva, and ‘Gota’ by Txema Muñoz, amongst others.
The programme will include activities related to the creative process and opportunities to meet the artists. The fifth edition of the international female clown festival ‘Ácidas’ will also take place as part of the programme.
The Councillor for Culture, Cristina Mora, has stated that “Fuenlabrada is becoming a national benchmark for indoor circus with a selection of shows aimed at introducing the public to the diversity of languages and possibilities offered by contemporary circus. With this new edition, the project is expanding opportunities for cultural participation, with a particular focus on the younger generations”.
