  2. Fuenlabrada reaffirms its commitment to cybersecurity and data protection

Having successfully passed an audit of its security systems and, once again, obtained the National Security Scheme (ENS) certificate

Fuenlabrada Town Council has renewed its National Security Scheme (ENS) certificate at the MEDIA level, after its electronic services successfully passed the audit required to obtain this recertification.

The Council thus maintains its commitment to cybersecurity and to the secure provision of digital public services between the administration and the public, via the Electronic Portal.

The assessment process for the council’s services took place last September. The new certification will remain valid until 2028.

This represents recognition of the work carried out to date – and which continues – to integrate cybersecurity into the day-to-day management of Fuenlabrada Town Council’s municipal online services. These services must be underpinned by security, rigour and the protection of citizens’ data when they interact digitally with their Town Council.

Since 2023, Fuenlabrada has been part of the National SOC Network (RNSOC), meaning that it not only works to ensure the security of municipal data but is also part of a National Security Strategy for the Spanish public sector.

Furthermore, it was the first public administration to sign up to the Pact for Sustainable Cybersecurity promoted by the Spanish Association for the Promotion of Information Security (ISMS Forum), which aims to develop a culture of sustainable, ethical and responsible cybersecurity.

The City Council has been implementing organisational and operational measures to improve its security through prevention, incident detection and the mitigation of any potential impact.
