800 schoolchildren learn about road safety and how to prevent accidents
The Healthy and Sustainable Mobility Caravan will be on display until 2 October in Plaza de La Constitución
Fuenlabrada Town Council is collaborating with the Mapfre Foundation on the ‘Safe and Sustainable Mobility Caravan’ educational initiative, a free activity in which nearly 800 primary school pupils from the town will take part.
The programme immerses pupils, in a fun and engaging way, in an installation designed to help them learn to enjoy safe and healthy mobility whilst learning to prevent risks in everyday life.
The caravan will be set up until the 2nd in Plaza de la Constitución and entry is free. It is open to schools and to families in general.
It features an escape room where pupils will learn key concepts about mobility, a road safety circuit for pedestrians, cyclists and skaters where they can put into practice what they have learnt about safe and sustainable mobility, and a prevention corner, where they can learn how to prevent accidents and injuries.
Mayor Javier Ayala, together with the Councillor for Education, Ana Sánchez, visited the facility today, stating that “Through activities of this kind, schoolchildren in Fuenlabrada learn, in a fun way, very important attitudes for their safety and for environmental sustainability. They learn how to prevent injuries whilst improving their ability to think critically, take the initiative and work as a team.”
The mobile exhibition will be open to the general public until next Thursday from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
