Fuenlabrada took part in the seventh edition of the Cities Forum, which was held at IFEMA from 9 to 11 June. This is a leading event where local authorities, businesses, universities and experts share experiences and developments in the field of sustainable urban development. The city’s participation in this event reinforces its commitment to innovation and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
During the event, the SHARE and Cities 4 Co-Housing projects were presented, as part of the EUI (European Urban Initiative) and URBACT community initiatives, aimed at promoting more inclusive, sustainable and resilient cities.
These projects focus on collaboration, co-housing and the use of urban resources through new participatory models. In doing so, Fuenlabrada positions itself as a leader in the implementation of innovative policies that address the current challenges facing European cities.
Mónica Sebastián, First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Urban Planning, Mobility and Citizen Participation, has emphasised the importance of participating in such forums, which enable the exchange of best practices, build cooperation networks between regions and continue to advance strategies that place people at the heart of public action.
Fuenlabrada’s presence at the Cities Forum confirms its commitment to building a more sustainable, innovative urban model that is adapted to the needs of the future.
